The location of the building provides a view of the Slepičí Mountains, the peaks of the Novohradské Mountains can be seen nearby - Kraví hora with the baroque church of the Virgin Mary, a charming and very visited pilgrimage site at an altitude of 695 m above sea level, from where you can see the Třeboň Basin
There are fountains under the steps of the church, from which purportedly healing water flows
In the Novohradská Hory Nature Park, you will find, among other things, the oldest protected area in the Czech Republic and the oldest nature reserve in Europe, the Žofín Forest and the national natural monument Hojná Voda Forest, declared on the Buquoy estate as early as 1838.
You can admire the beauty of the landscape both on foot and by bike
The area is criss-crossed with well-marked hiking and cycling trails
If the weather is not suitable for outdoor activities, you can go to the Aquapark in nearby Gmünd, Austria, or go to one of the many historical monuments in the area
Until 1945, the village was inhabited almost exclusively by the German population, it had around 700 inhabitants
Today, approximately 200 inhabitants live here
