Welcomes you in 2018 to the completely newly renovated Farm U Medvěda, which offers stylish Šumava accommodation in sensitively renovated apartments of the former Schwarzenberg hunting lodge

The origin of our estate, then still a hunting lodge, dates back to the 19th century, when the middle class began to discover the wildly romantic landscape of Šumava

The charisma of the surrounding nature, which beckoned tourists 150 years ago, persists to this day and attracts new guests, as it did back then under the prince

After the filling of the Lipno dam, the hunting lodge, somewhat by chance, found itself in an ideal place for active tourism and relaxed relaxation in nature

On one side, the backdrops are the Šumava National Park and the captivating peak of the Plechý mountain, and on the other, the meandering Vltava and the glittering surface of our South Bohemian Sea in the form of Lipno

If in the middle of the 19th century you came to the inn in our Želnavská rychta and were looking for Johannn Jungwirt, you might have searched in vain

But if you called out: "Holoto, can't you hear the hell? I'm telling you that I'm looking for Bärenhansl!", that would probably be different, because they would definitely send you to the nearby Želnava

The nickname Bärenhansl, which means something like a bear tamer, was earned by Jungwirt rightfully, as it is stated in the memorial books that he was the one who felled the last Šumava bear in the neighboring area

Here at the farm U Medvěda, this last trained piece in the Šumava was then stored and then transported to the castle in Hluboká nad Vltavou

For the autumn season of 2022, we have newly opened a wine cellar and a sauna world with a relaxation zone with the possibility of sleeping on hay

The barn is completely newly built in 2019 with hand hewn beams tied using old traditional techniques

It is heated by central heating with cast iron radiators and floor radiators

In the barn there is a tiled stove with a stove insert and a couch

The barn has its own sanitary facilities, including a sink

There is a tap located in a peasant chest of drawers with CO2 cooling

For corporate and social events, the barn is equipped with a projector with a projection plan, intelligent lighting and sound system with BOSE equipment

Wine cellar: Capacity: up to 16 people; Size - 25m²

The wine cellar was created in the original cooling room, where the last shot bear was stored in the mid-19th century

But don't worry, you won't be cold now

In the cellar, a wine cellar with wine is available for guests, which functions as a self-service 24/7. Worth noting is the replica of the insulating door and the stone floor, which has been preserved here from the original building

The wine cellar is accessible to all guests at the farm

Sauna world: Capacity: up to 15 people; Size - 150m² on two floors

Close your eyes and imagine that you are sitting in a wooden cabin in the middle of the Šumava meadows

Yes, that is exactly how you will feel in our private saunas

The choice is yours: Finnish sauna, biosauna with herbal essences or infrared sauna, where you can set the program exactly according to what is bothering you

A tub, a bucket of water, a shower or an outdoor pond can be used to cool down

After cooling down, it's time to relax

Lie down in our heated relaxing rocking chairs or spread out in the hay

If you don't like the smell of hay, you can sit in the armchairs by the fireplace or in the hammock.

Sanitary facilities: Each apartment has its own bathroom and toilet

All are equipped with high-quality Villeroy & Boch sanitary ceramics.

Heating: The building is heated by central heating + underfloor heating

The price of a private rental is 600 CZK / 2 persons / hour + 150 CZK for each additional person / hour.

All energy consumption, bed linen, Wi-Fi internet, parking and more are included in the apartment price

The price does not include the fee to the village of Nová Pec, which amounts to CZK 21/person over 18/day (the first day is not counted)

Also, final cleaning, which is 400 CZK (apartment No. 4), 500 CZK (apartment No. 5) and 600 CZK (apartment No. 1, No. 2, No. 3)

Prices are contractual and may vary depending on the current situation.

Pets:

They are allowed in all our apartments, only a fee of CZK 150 / night is paid.

Access to the apartment is always possible after 16:00

If the apartment is not occupied before your arrival, an earlier arrival is also possible by arrangement
